GFL designs, manufactures, and installs blast-resistant buildings for hazardous environments in the UK and globally. Our blast-resistant buildings range includes both stand-alone and modular buildings, which can be manufactured in bespoke sizes and specifications, from 100mba to 1000mba (3psi to 15psi).
Our Blast Resistant Modules (BRM's) are used for a range of applications in the petrochemical industry and sites in which hazardous materials are processed or stored.
We can incorporate blast-resistant HVAC systems to prevent the spread of hazardous materials and maintain a safe environment for occupants following an event. These systems may include blast valves, pressure relief dampers, and filtration units to minimise the ingress of containments and ensure adequate ventilation.
Another essential aspect of our blast-resistant buildings is the inclusion of protective features such as blast-resistant windows and doors.
These are designed to withstand the pressure and fragmentation caused by an explosion while still allowing natural light into the building. Additionally, blast-resistant glazing and films are applied to windows to help mitigate the impact of debris and reduce the risk of injury to occupants.
The range includes offices, welfare facilities, control rooms, toxic refuge, shelters in place, substations, control rooms, toxic refuge, and remote instrument enclosures. All our buildings are engineered by the following guidelines:
